PROJECT PLANNING

Project management graph

All projects no matter how large or small need to be planned and managed to ensure that they achieve their aim in the timescales required and at an agreed cost. There are, unfortunately, plenty of examples where one or more of these parameters have not been met.

To overcome some embarrassing project failures in Government organisations, the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency developed a project management methodology called PRojects IN Controlled Environments, or PRINCE for short. Due to the systems inherent flexibility, PRINCE has proved very successful for large and small projects alike.

Solution Management has experience of many projects, latter ones completed using PRINCE methodology, and we can vouch for its benefits. Similarly, commercial companies have recognised the value of structured project management and adopted PRINCE for their own projects.

Smaller companies may not have the in-house experience or skills to manage projects outside their normal area of activity but they still need to ensure that they achieve their aim in the timescales required and at an agreed cost. Solution Management has the experience and skills to assist such firms to meet their objective.
